Or perhaps is so that you can turn a blind eye to the way the person who cracks your whip and keeps you on a tight leash picks up on other people's deepest pain as the perfect opportunity to twist the knife? Wait, no, maybe it's to allow her to impugne a person's professionalism and the entire company that she works for, or to question your friend's virtue, neither of which was ever justified, What exactly did they ever do to you that you felt it was acceptable to turn a blind eye to the implication that one was unprofessional and the other a whore?
