Broken walls
Taking down the walls is not done brick by brick. The walls are thick and old and high, built carefully over time. It is done hard and fast and all at once to lessen the sear of stone parting from flesh. It is done knowing that you will step, not into sunlight, but onto the edge of the precipice. And there will be a pure, clear moment when you see and fear has yet to catch up and certainty burns in your veins like heartache before, reluctantly, you step away from the walls and
fall.

Slinky,
Your writing squeezes me into a tight ball of breathlessness.
Because you have utterly articulated what I can't.
I love your writing.
