Living on a prayer
Random things because I only had two hours sleep and only a million more things to do and it's Friday and I feel whiny and this is my blog so you're all just going to have to take it.
1. Some time back during that period where I didn't sleep for 42 hours, the Religious Attachee, having failed to pray over me in the office (possibly smiting my forehead and driving out devils and whatnot), decided to do the next best thing and sent me an sms prayer instead. It read: "For God so loved the world that he gave His one and only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life" Gospel of John Chapter 3 verse 16. God, I pray that you give Slinky rest, for You said in Your word: "Come to Me, all you who are weary and I will give you rest." Gospel of Matthew Chapter 11:28. (can't argue with that) I pray that you will bring relief to her illness (I had a cold) I know she is not alone in her work (me too, because I made him come back on Saturday to help, poor chap), that You are right beside her (so it wasn't the Devil urging me to eat the last cookie, that’s good to know). Thank you, amen.
How's THAT for bizarre? I was oddly touched though. Sweet kid.
Sobering thought - God must really think I need some help if he needs to resort to SingTel to reach me
2. I get to play house with The Boy for about a week. That means seven days where I get to sleep with him, wake up with him, go to sleep again, and curl up with each under the covers, snug and warm, so we're late for work together every day. He has promised to cook. I have refused to wash up. I will make him watch Buffy a lot. I think it's a pretty fair trade. Best of all, I get to stay with Merlot again! Woohoo!
3. I now know that what those fucking ACRES people thought was a tiger is Sixth Avenue might not have been a tiger at all, but my friend Inferno being... um..happy. I kind of wish I didn't know that. But I love you for sharing.
4. Buddy is thinking of building his own Les Paul. He has already built his own bass. Buddy is teaching me very grownup things like investing my money in stocks and shares instead of hiding it in my socks. Buddy has promised to rub himself on various people of my choosing so that we can work on some deserved karmic backlash. Buddy is the coolest person on earth.
5. The Sisterhood met up last night for food and fags. And yeah, the Other Cat is right. Crazy. Like whoo whoo rocking-in-the-corner-talking-to-her-self-type crazy.
And can I just say: we're all walking wrecks right now, we all work too hard right now, and we're all walking germ warfare deployment units right now. But we're all going on to such big things. Thank God for you guys.
