Around the world in $80,000

Got this from the hugely entertaining Adrock.

This is a map of all the places that I've been to.

I realize that this is also a map of the places I want to go.

There are too many places I bave yet to visit. 13 countries, 5% of the world? Hell, how long do we get to live? So far I've been to Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, Cairns, Canberra, London, Toulouse, Amsterdam, New York, Los Angeles, San Fransisco, Las Vegas, Florida, Bermuda, Bangkok, Barcelona, Costa Brava, South Africa, New Zealand, and deepest, darkest Malaysia. And it still doesn't like I'm anywhere near done yet.

Next on the list: Turkey, to visit the souks, smoke some Turkish hookah and visit the sea, India, to traipse along in the desert and make out under a blanket of stars and visit the Taj, Mauritius, to swim and dive with the fishes in crystal waters, Mexico, to live it up on the beaches, drink cheap tequila, party all night, and try not to get kidnapped and strapped to a burro, Cuba, to learn how to blow smoke rings from Cuban cigars, handrolled on the thighs of young virgins (do they still have virgins?), and to dance to that glorious Cuban beat, New Orleans, to sit on the grass and listen to BB King and eat blackened Cajun chicken and to fall in love the place, Brazil, for Carnivale, because I have to dance in the streets in Brazil during one of the biggest parties in the world at least once in my life before I die, Egypt, to ride on a grumpy camel and wear a headscarf and walk the paths of pharoahs, Morocco, to walk desert-bright streets, Prague, to see the churches, the places, the people, and Greece, to go mad on the Islands and eat dolmadakia yalatzi, tzatziki, moussaka and to discover the crystal clear waters of the Aegean.

I feel inspired.

Hey momo, nice to see someone from so far away on my blog! From a purely tourist point of view, I liked visiting South Africa. The sheer amount of space is unbelievable, and it's beautiful in a way which other countries can't compare to. That said, I didn't feel safe in South Africa - the fact that we had to show our faces to a camera before we were buzzed into a shop was a little unnerving. And the streets were deserted by sundown. It seemed like a country of such contradictions as well, because even though there was evidence of enormous wealth, both in terms of it's natural resources as well as in terms of the people, it was always juxtaposed with poverty. Coming from where I do, South Africa was completely different from anything I've experienced. I'd go back again in a heartbeat though.
